Yes, I know....... I have been a tad neglectful about posting to my blog lately. Do you really want to hear all the excuses why? That I am helping to plan a stamping event for October 30-Nov 1? That Hubby & I have family in Door Co. Wi, we visit like every other weekend? That I'm also getting neat things ready for a couple of upcoming Craft Shows....and that I'm getting together a few workshops....Nope, you probably don't......... but that's ok............ The one thing you can always guarantee is that I am having a lot of fun stamping!
So here are some cards I made for an upcoming class I will be teaching!! Watch for more details!

Vacationing in Door County

I'm taking a week off from crafting to enjoy some vacation time with the family. Here is a picture of hubby Kurt and I canoeing at Potawattamie Park in Sturgeon Bay (Door Co.). Our grandchildren were riding with us...I didn't want to be the leader, as you can see, looks like Kurt is doing more relaxing than paddling!! lol
It was alot of fun. The grandchildren , Kalei and Nathan were the best passengers a person could ask for! We stuck close to the shoreline looking for turtles and fish in the clear water.
So far we have had some picture perfect weather!!!

Stamp Camp

Last night I hosted a Stamp Camp. We mainly worked on birthday cards. I asked everyone if they would like to make a Birthday Card for my Mother-in-Law that will be turning 80.... we have a total of 7 to "shower" her with...she will difinitely get a kick out of this.
Three of my "students" were two of my daughters and my Mom!!!! They are not card makers, but I think they enjoyed themselves anyway!!

Fall Card

Since the weather has been so fallish, I was in the mood to try out one of my new stampsets from the new catolog, I love the fall, just don't want it to come tooo early!!!

The stamp set is called "Autumn Days", and I used all the new "In Colors". This stamp set can also be used for masculine card making.

· How about using the hearts as bullet points in your journaling or list making for layouts?
· Create confetti or just sprinkle a trail down the hall to your child's bedroom.

· Deliver a heart treat to your favorite teacher when school starts! What a great way to thank a teacher from the past or to begin the school year on a positive note with a new teacher.

HAPPY FEBRUARY!! The winter is half over and I'm almost at 3 weeks since my knee replacement!! YESSS. I definitely have Cabin Fever, I am not one to
sit still, so this has been challenging. I have craft stuff all over the couch where I spend a great deal of my time....

Well it's been 3 weeks since I have been home from the hospital after getting a brand new knee.

I have been playing with my new stamps! So many cute new items in new 09 Spring/Summer catalog. I can't stop! My Nurse and Physical therapist get a kick out of my cards and how I am entertaining myself during my recuperation.

One card is from the JUst Buzzing Around stamp set and the other one is from Tiny Blooms.

I am back after having knee replacement surgery. I'm off work for 6 weeks which is fine with me! The new spring/summer StampinUp Catalog is out (tomorrow it will be online) and I'm looking forward to playing with my new stamps and DSP! The Catalog is great with tons of new items and best of all we can start thinking SPRING!!!!!!! Check out the beautiful card my upline emailed to me....

What a nice surprise to find out I was tagged by Jenna from A "Sap" for Stamps- thanks for thinking of me Jenna- (I'm still new to all this blogging stuff);

Ok so here are 7 weird or random things about me:

1) I love coffee, I can drink it all day and still fall asleep at night!

2) I got my one and only tattoo when I was 41 (must have been some mid-life crisis thing)

3) I was born in El Paso, Tx and raised in Chicago

Here is a picture of some of the Tin Boxes we made at my good friend, Angie's house. They were all darling. What a creative bunch of ladies- It's amazing to see what your imagination can come up with!
Some of the Ladies made them into recipe boxes and some are going to use them as a card holder or just a plain ol'trinket box.

I must say as much as I'm ejoying my Door County weekend, I'm having withdrawals from crafting!!! I haven't had a chance to use my new fall sets, from the SU Mini Holiday Catolog.

I'm very inspired- the colors in WI at this time of year are so beautiful- the weather is perfect, fall is a great season. The best news yet is a friend of mine whom I met through some Door County Crafting Escapes joined StampinUp! Welcome, Brenda!

So watch for some fall/Thanksgiving cards and some scrapbook pages!

This was a beautiful card we made at my uplines Techniques Class on Saturday. We did sponging and masking on a glossy piece of cardstock. We used the Lovely as Tree and the Winter Post stamps.
I mounted my card on the Purely Pomegranate card stock (retired) and used the same color on the girl's skirt with the SUaquamarker. Her sweater is Regal Rose-the boy's pants were done in Pacific Blue and sweater in Barely Banana.
The sky was sponged on with three different blues. I put some glitter on the girls collars and cuffs, and added some by the trees.

FUN Halloween Card

This was a fun Halloween card to make. I love this time of year and I am having too much fun making Halloween/Autumn/Thanksgiving Cards....
I used The Halloween DSP from SU along with SU Tangerine Tango card stock and ribbon. The Stamp is from Northwoods Rubber Stamps, the Spider is from SU Eat Drink and be Merry. I colored in the witches feet with various SU Markers.

I've been working on cards. cards, and more cards - I'm trying to get a bunch ready for the display board- the problem is- there are sooo many fun stamps from StampinUp!
This was a simple one made with the Silhouette Stamp, stamped in black ink
I love the pink and black combo- I used the Piroutte Pink, Black, Pixie Pink and Whisper white and the black and white checkered ribbon-
I need to make some adjustments with the camera, its doing this card no justice

We came up to Door County for the weekend, I had intentions on taking some pictures of my cards and scrapbooking- however I left the battery to the camera at home (Elgin, IL)...In the near future I will difinitely have some pictures posted.
